OUR SUSTAINABLE ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR

We are making great strides in reducing our Carbon Footprint. Here are a few of the achievements made to date with many more in progress.

  • LED lighting is being fit throughout the factory to reduce energy supply
  • Motion detectors are being installed by area to turn off lights when not needed
  • Company cars are now electric
  • Company Fleet vehicles are all now Euro 6 compliant with electric options being considered for future purchases
  • Company waste is segregated for recycling by type
  • Wood waste

  • REM materials and fabrics are certified as chemically POP’s free. POP’s are organic chemical pollutants that remain intact for many years and are toxic to both Humans and Animal life.
  • Our REM Earth Packaging and Delivery techniques have resulted in a massive reduction of bubble wrap, shrink wrap, protective plastic and waste pallets.
  • The inks used in printing processes are vegetable based
  • Where possible our Staff Car Share in their commute to work
  • Where feasible meetings around the UK & Europe are now held via Digital online apps
  • Paperless Billing is used by our Sales & Invoicing Departments
  • Online advertising is our preferred means of Marketing
  • REM Office Space is furnished with Plants to improve Oxygen into the office and improve the environmental aesthetic.
  • The taps, handsprays and hoses supplied with our products are certified WRAS approved protecting against the contamination of water supply from such diseases as Legionella Bacteria
  • REM products all carry the WEEE directive ensuring the safe recycling and disposal of Electrical goods to avoid harmful waste polluting the environment.
  • RoHS is an EU ruling that restricts the use of Hazardous substances in Electrical equipment that helps protect the environment we live in. All REM products are RoHS compliant and meet the standards that many imported goods fail to achieve.
  • Crib 5 also known as Ignition Source 5 has been a British Standard for some years and it is essential that all furniture manufactured for commercial use carry this standard. Crib 5 ensures that upholstery, fabrics and materials are tested to UK Fire Regulations to identify the materials ignitability and fire retardancy. Again, many imports will not have passed standard and could be potentially disastrous in a Salon environment.
